Hey there, I’m Chris and I look forward to meeting you! Are you feeling overwhelmed and it seems like everyone in your life has advice to give but you don't think they truly understand what you are saying or the extent of what you are experiencing? Do you feel unheard and misunderstood? In working with me, I want to provide you with a safe, nonjudgmental environment; one, in which, you feel like somebody finally "gets it." I believe in working with you as a teammate (yes, I do love sports); we are in this together. I cannot do the work for you, but I can be in there with you providing encouragement, tips and strategies, and insight.

I believe one of the bravest things we can do is to understand our story. Owning our story can bring us to self-acceptance and healing. I can help get you there. Do you feel like you’re hitting a wall? Feeling stuck in unhealthy patterns? Stuck in your past trauma? Bad relationships? You deserve more than the anger and hurt that you’re carrying with you each day. These walls you’re hitting can be broken down. We just need to take a few steps back, and face these walls together. Come in, and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea (on me) and let’s talk about it.

Hi! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Philadelphia. I received my masters degree from Thomas Jefferson University (formally Philadelphia University) and have been practicing for 5 years. I work with individuals of all ages with primary focus on anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction. However, I am a firm believer that everyone benefits from therapy- even if nothing feels "wrong". Sometimes we just need someone to actively listen, validate feelings, and provide a safe space and that is what I am here to do.

I am a Licensed Social Worker who is passionate about helping others confront their fears, insecurities, and feelings of loneliness or isolation. After 10 years in corporate finance, I was motivated to transition to a more fulfilling career. A deep commitment to my own mental health and curiosity about others' life journeys inspired me to seek a profession centered around human connection. I am particularly interested in collaborating with individuals who yearn for a greater sense of connection with themselves and others, as well as those who are curious about the interplay between themselves and their environment.

I work with clients who are trying to understand how to accept themselves and are looking to create a strong therapeutic relationship with a counselor. I believe that clients who have acknowledged that they need help in certain areas and are looking to put in the work needed to achieve their goals are going to get the most out of our time together.

Feeling helpless? Are you committed to self-improvement, but overwhelmed with where to start? Wanting to understand the symptoms you are experiencing or examine the obstacles in life requires help of an honest, direct, solution focused clinician. Anxiety, co-dependent patterns such as "people pleasing" or just trying to understand an experience, starting with the truth of the reality in front of you is where we can meet and start. Every focused, achieving individual wants to "fix it" or do whatever it takes to feel better to live better. By applying some "curiosity," shame and judgement can decrease and hope can increase.

I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families who are seeking help with navigating life transitions. Sometimes, life gets very stressful and I believe it is helpful to have additional support during these times. My experience growing up in Eastern Europe has been instrumental in how I like to approach counseling from a multicultural viewpoint. I can provide therapy in Romanian and Spanish as well.

I have been a therapist for over 8 years but worked in the mental health field for about 15 years. Although I come from a medical background, I believe that a holistic approach to mental health is the most useful. I enjoy working with individuals, couples and families to explore their feelings and process external and internal issues to come to a place of acceptance and self-compassion. All of us have things in our lives that didn’t cause the trauma but trigger it, I can help you overcome these triggers.

There's no need to face your struggles alone. Ben believes that speaking with a therapist is a life-affirming decision, and intends on individually tailoring therapy to meet your needs, while always maintaining warmth, humor, caring, and directive. Giving yourself permission to try therapy, to find your inner sources of strength, is one of the most meaningful gifts you can give yourself.

Life can get overwhelming and you feel like you're in it alone. I meet you where you are at by viewing your needs as they are. I'm client centered and together we'll work. I've been in this field since 2009 as a professional helper, and started out working w/ children, pre-teens, adolescence (i.e., foster care, adoption, behavioral and emotional, and autism); then expanded into working w/ adults (i.e., SMI population, forensic population, criminal justice involve population, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, OCD, anger management, life transitions, thinking disorders). I want to empower you to help you overcome obstacles.

Finding a therapist can be difficult and prioritizing yourself can be even harder. You may be seeking support for feeling overwhelmed, disorganized, or trying to balance too much at once. Or you may be like many people and experience guilt or shame because you think you aren't living up to personal or societal expectations. These all can effect how you feel about yourself, your work and your relationships. It's hard to know where to start and that's why I'm here. Therapy is a space where we can identify what it is you want from life and develop strategies to help you not only cope but also develop proactive ways to help you thrive.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.
Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
How much does therapy cost?
The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.
What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?
Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
