It's hard to think about starting therapy. And maybe it's never worked in the past. And often it can be more difficult when you've experienced what is considered a trauma, even if you don't think of your life that way. You just know you're not happy and haven't been in a long time. Sometimes therapy works when you try one more time. Maybe you just have to be ready.
Therapy is a collaboration. Sometimes it takes a while. But doing anything hard is lessened when you don't do it alone. My focus is on offering possible alternatives to old beliefs and "stuck thinking" which may be causing most unhappiness. I offer certain anxiety reduction techniques, insight therapy and education.
The techniques I may use are Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy which can help heal or resolve emotional stress, depression and phobias.
