I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has experience working with a wide variety of ages and populations. I have training from the Albert Ellis Institute in New York for Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, which is a form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT is an evidenced based model, meaning that their is research showing it really does work!

My practice is dedicated to anxiety disorders with emphasis on OCD and OCD Related disorders. As such, approximately 85-90% of the clients that I am currently treating have this diagnosis. I have treated a significant amount of individuals and families who have been afflicted with the aforementioned challenges. This includes in an office setting, out in the community, and in the homes of the client. I'm up-to-date on the latest treatments. I treat clients on the Autism Spectrum, in all capacities (anxiety related and otherwise.) I also provide clinical supervision to other therapists on how to effectively treat their own clients.

Providing my clients with a comfortable, open, non-judgmental environment is key to developing a trusting relationship. I have found it to be so important for my clients to recognize and build upon their own strengths. In our work together we can establish definable goals for treatment and uncover various patterns that developed over time. After obtaining a Master's Degree from Columbia University, I had the opportunity to work in both inpatient, outpatient, and private practice settings. I specialize in working with individuals of all ages who are dealing with anxiety, self-destructive behaviors, or adoption-related concerns.

Families are a good source of strength but they can also get stuck in unproductive patterns of behavior and interaction which are challenging to change. I help families break these difficult cycles by working with them to identify goals and establish plans and milestones to achieve them. I apply over 25 years of experience as I empower struggling individuals, couples, and families facing marital issues, divorce, anxiety, depression, and children/adolescents with self-destructive behaviors or ADD/ADHD as well as many other mental health issues. I also specialize in working with diagnoses of oppositional defiant and conduct disorders.

I view counseling as a holistic and individual developmental process. Each individual that enters my office brings character and strengths as well as stressors and challenges. I believe therapy is about change; facilitated by focusing on an individual's strengths. Guiding others has always been a passion of mine from an early age. As I got older, the passion became stronger and pushed me into many different volunteer positions. My desire to help facilitate change crossed paths with my love for volleyball and led me to Costa Rica on mission trips. It was there, in Costa Rica, I knew I was being called to work with people on a more intimate level as my life’s work. Now, I am a Licensed Social Worker. I earned my Masters Degree at New York University. I have worked closely with children, adolescents and adults as dealing with everyday stressors and anxieties to mental health diagnoses.
