Where special concerns deserve special care, Specialized Therapy Associates has been in operation since 1994 with a staff of psychologists, psychiatrists, and therapists in Hackensack, Ramsey, Short Hills, & Fort Lee. STA provides the full range of psychological services: individual, couples, family & group therapy. We also provide a full range of psychological testing services for all age ranges.STA offers specialized programs which includes but not limited to eating disorders, substance abuse, trauma, academic success, child and parenting. We are staffed with Board certified adult & child psychiatrists & psychiatric nurse practitioners, clinical social workers, licensed clinical alcohol & drug counselors & licensed professional counselors.

The Koch Center (located in Montclair, Waldwick, Morristown, & Englewood) specializes in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Therapy and Programs for Adults, Adolescents, Middle Schoolers, and Families. Our Intensive DBT Programs offer an opportunity to receive extensive support and expert treatment in an outpatient setting. We treat the full range of psychological issues (including Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Impulse Control Disorders, Eating Disorders, Trauma, Relationship Problems, Personality Disorders). We have a Trauma Program for adults. We also offer individual therapy from varying theoretical orientations.

Our services include individual, couples and family therapy, tailored to meet your unique needs and goals. Additionally we offer a range of evaluations and assessments with our psychologist. We utilize evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based techniques, and psychodynamic therapy to help you gain insight, develop new perspectives and create positive changes in your life. Our therapists are dedicated to providing culturally sensitive and inclusive care, respecting your identity, background and beliefs.

At our practice, you will be supported by a dedicated team of compassionate and caring therapists. We are a trauma-informed, community-oriented practice that only uses evidence and research-based treatment modalities for depression, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, and other life challenges and transitions. We believe in mind/body connection, so body-oriented skills are taught and incorporated into our therapy sessions. We will teach you/work with you on integrating mindfulness, meditation, grounding, and other effective coping skills to address emotional distress, change behavioral patterns and enhance relationships. I work with people suffering from various mental health conditions: depression, anxiety, panic attacks, mood disorders, or grieving a loss. In my 25 years as a therapist, I have worked with patients from diverse cultural, racial, and socio-economic backgrounds. In the recent years, my focus has been psychotherapy, support and psycho-education for people with acute or chronic medical conditions. The achievements of modern medicine do not replace attention to potentially devastating psychological effects of being sick, yet doctors often overlook or ignore them, leaving us to cope with fear, loneliness, and critical decisions to make.
