My Ideal Client is one who continuously struggles to understand why so many open wounds in their lives. One who wants their pains to be heard and their unclosed issues addressed. It may not be completely flushed out; however, during our time together I would like to support with various skills and interventions . My main focus throughout this entire process will be around supporting the client’s thoughts, feelings and overall understanding that comes attached to the hurt that has been a barrier in their lives. I aim to make therapy open and inviting. My goal is to allow all of my clients feel seen and heard and to work together with them to achieve their treatment goals. I most often work with women who are struggling with life stressors, trauma, anxiety, depression, and grief, among other issues. I have been working with children and adolescents in school settings for over 20 years, first as a Special Education Teacher and then as a School Counselor. Through this work, I helped my adolescents and young adults develop executive functioning skills, organizational skills, and goal setting to help them transition into their future endeavors. Now, as a Student Assistance Counselor, I work with adolescents in a high school supporting their mental health needs and substance abuse issues. As a LPC, my goal is to help my clients explore the root of their distress, identify needs and wants and work toward a more balanced life.
