My name is Jenn Sullivan-Cox and my ideal client is someone who wants to be their most authentic self. Clients who are ready to start down the road of living the life they want can take it at their own pace with me. I provide support and guidance as we navigate your journey together.

My favorite moments as a therapist are when clients realize they are allowed to be happy as their authentic selves. I love to witness folks learning to truly love themselves in all phases of life.

Life is hard. We all hit rough patches and we don’t always know where to turn. Whether we are experiencing anxiety, life changes, relationship problems, postpartum mental health changes, or just life happening, we all need someone. That’s where I come in. I aim to help adults ranging from young adults to those that are in their golden years to find their calm and focus on growth and healing. Through focusing on person-centered individual or couples counseling my goal is to help you to navigate the rough waters of life, to find peace in the chaos, and to find hope in the heartache.

Therapy is where you can say the words that aren't allowed to be said. While I see clients who are struggling with a variety of issues (depression; anxiety; relationship difficulties; and questions of meaning, purpose, and self), I specialize in working with those who have experienced religious trauma - those who have been deeply hurt by the messages they received as part of their religious experience and have not felt the freedom to tell their story. Clergy and laity alike need space to express and reflect upon their hurt, their sadness, their anger, their disappointment, and their doubts.

If you are an adult or teenager struggling with anxiety, relationship issues, trauma issues, self-esteem, or setting boundaries, I would love to help you. Couples who are struggling with relationship issues are also welcome as I have a passion and experience in marital/couples therapy and helping relationships succeed. I have also been trained in EMDR which assists clients in rapid reduction of trauma-related symptoms resulting in overall healing. I have had specialized training in DBT and have assisted clients in learning and implementing these skills as well.

I'm a small town girl who has gone through life with divorce, caring for a child with special needs, loss, and love. I love to connect with REAL people who have REAL problems & are looking for not only help but big changes in their lives. I have worked with a wide array of clients, especially in my past career in Adventure Based Counseling. I have walked therapeutic, and literal, paths with people from all walks of life and with concerns ranging from depression and anxiety to personality disorders and trauma survivors. My ideal client is one that shows up physically, mentally, and emotionally for themselves. Healing, repairing, and integrating can be hard work. I'm here to join with you and walk the path hand in hand.

I believe that simply being truly listened to can be powerful and transformative. Beyond that, many come to counseling to process past traumas and experiences, change behaviors, or develop new, healthier coping skills. While I use an eclectic approach to counseling that draws from techniques grounded in behavioral and existential theories, my ultimate goal is to tailor the experience for the unique person you are.
