Flourish Counseling & Wellness is a group practice providing counseling, advocacy and resources focused on women's and perinatal mental health - from fertility to pregnancy, through postpartum and parenthood. We envision a world where families have the information and support they need to heal, connect and flourish. To support that vision, we have assembled an experienced group of clinicians to serve clients in Chicago, Oak Park, and throughout Illinois. Our team consists of clinical social workers, psychologists, PhDs, marriage/family therapists, certified perinatal mental health clinicians, and a psychiatric nurse practitioner.

I have extensive experience working with trauma survivors; and believe therapy is a space where you are able to decide how you want to be supported and when. I would be honored to support you on your journey towards healing and living a more present and connected life. I specialize in trauma. For several years I have supported clients in healing from acute trauma, complex PTSD and chronic trauma. I firmly believe that we all have within us the natural ability to heal from trauma. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can find your voice and feel empowered to move through life’s ups and downs with flexibility and confidence. I work with adults across the lifespan and understand firsthand the importance of being a culturally competent therapist.

Each individual has a different journey to walk, filled with obstacles unique to one's life. I walk with individuals as they explore the depths of their life stories and the impact that has had on who they are presently. In addition to exploring one's past we also deal with the here and now and explore what's keeping one from living freely and more fully in the world. My hope is that through our work together individuals will be able to find more degrees of freedom in their life and their relationships. I specialize in depth-oriented, psychotherapy.

I will first and foremost utilize an anti-oppressive, non-judgmental and person-centered approach, understanding that affirmation of a client's identity is critical to helping that individual live a more authentic life.

Alyssa received her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in October 2023 at Adler University in Chicago. Alyssa has worked for public school districts working in behavioral management classrooms and substitute teaching at the middle school level, gaining relevant experience working with adolescents in the school environment and mental health issues. She enjoys working with people of all ages with multicultural backgrounds; and specializes in working with children, adolescents, and young adults.

I have over 20 years of experience working with adults who are presenting with various life concerns including depression, challenging transitions, difficulty understanding and expressing emotions, infertility, parenthood, and relationship concerns. I enjoy working with all adults and have extensive experience with college students and helping them navigate all that comes with college life. I also have experience working with caregivers of children and young adults who identify as neurodiverse or have special needs as I understand the stress, exhaustion, love, and rewards that are abundant in these families.

I specialize in working with individual and couples to address relational issues, infidelity, dating, breakups, emotional engagement, intimacy, traumatic events and history of abuse. I am bilingual in English and Spanish and I work through a compassionate and trauma-informed lens.

I have over twenty years of experience working with children, families, couples, individuals, and groups. I have ample experience working Latinx clients, immigrant families, and multiracial couples. If you suffer issues such as: depression, anxiety, or relational issues ( couples problems, mother/father and children disagreements, siblings fights) give yourself the opportunity to improve your relationships. For years, I have been working with children who have suffered traumatic events and their families. I am an American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy Approved Supervisor, and I supervise Therapy students.

I have over twenty years of social work experience. I have worked in foster care and adoption, in a psychiatric hospital and am currently working in private practice. My patients include children, adolescents, adults and couples. I treat depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief issues, conflict resolution, borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder, social anxiety, OCD, addictions, issues related to divorce and family/marital conflicts. I use a variety of treatment modalities based on the individual needs of the patient. My therapeutic approach is a non-judgmental blending of eastern and western philosophies thereby helping patients develop acceptance and develop better coping strategies to deal with their challenges.
