Hey there! My name is Alex. Life can be a tricky journey, sometimes it is full of excitement and fun, and other times it can really be tough. I don't believe we were created to walk this life alone, especially through those difficult moments. That's where therapy comes in. To be honest with you, I don't have the power to change you and that is not my goal. My job as a therapist is to come alongside you and help you rediscover yourself and your potential. With a greater understanding of who you are and where you have been, comes the opportunity for change to create a new normal.

I approach the therapeutic relationship from a client-centered lens with an integrative treatment approach. This means that I work with each client to develop a unique treatment plan to address their specific needs. I do not utilize a one size fits all approach and I believe that the client is just as important in this process as the therapist is. I examine all aspects of a client’s perspective including the systems that impact them. Treating the whole person is an important aspect for me in my therapeutic engagement with clients. I believe that every person has value and is worthy of kindness.

Too often, this life can make us feel weak, broken, and helpless. As a therapist, I strive to help individuals express themselves fully as who they are inside. My therapeutic style is direct, yet coupled with compassion and empathy. I always feel excited to help others in this journey through life–to help them to find personal purpose and meaning. I strive to help my clients who feel helpless and broken to feel empowered through coping skills, mindfulness, self expression, and assertiveness.

I get deep satisfaction from working with couples, using best practices from advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy to recreate emotional connection. I also am trained in using EMDR to help individuals experience relief from the burden of traumatic experiences. Another specialty is Discernment Counseling, a discipline in which I am fully certified and which offers couples an opportunity to gain clarity about whether they remain married, continue as they are for the time being, or commit to the challenging work of couples therapy.

We recognize how difficult it can be to seek help with mental health issues. Our goal is to meet you where you are in a supportive, encouraging way. We never use shame as a motivator. Instead we seek to provide a balance between giving you time and space to heal and challenging and encouraging you to move forward to a healthier place. We have a staff of over 40 therapists each with different specialties; we all possess the same single passion: to walk with our clients on the path of healing.

Justin engages clients with a warm, empathic, non-judgmental yet direct style and uses a down-to-earth approach. Justin utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy(ACT)Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) ,Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) , a Client-Centered Approach and Motivational Interviewing techniques to help his clients move forward in their lives. Justin specializes in working with individuals who find themselves struggling with: depression, anxiety, addiction, family conflict, and acting out/impulsive behaviors. Justin works with clients of all ages but has a great deal of experience working with adolescents and families .

Steve is an Illinois State Licensed Clinical Social Worker that has been providing services to individuals, couples and families for over 10 years. Steve received his Bachelor's Degree in psychology from the University of Kansas in 2002 and his Master's Degree in social work from the University of Chicago in 2004. Since then he has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings as either a clinical therapist or administrator.

The decision to seek help can often be difficult and filled with uncertainty, worry, and/or fear. My approach to therapy is to meet each person where they are at, without judgment, by determining needs, goals, and a path forward. I believe that each person has the capability to build upon their strengths and resources to develop new skills, resolve the impact of potentially long-standing issues in life, and become a better version of themselves. I will be your support while gently challenging you, when needed, to reach the goals that you have set for yourself. After all, you are the expert on your life.
