I've had the privilege of working with families for over a decade through roles as a therapist, mentor, coach, and case manager. I believe people have the capacity and ability to accomplish their goals but are often constrained by obstacles that prevent them from achieving them. My education, combined with previous professional experience has allowed me to become an effective listener and expanded my understanding of the human experience.

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of experience. I work with adolescents, young adults and adults in individual, family, and couples therapy. For the past 25 years, I have committed myself to improving the mental health and well-being of children, teens, families and couples. As a queer person myself, I tend to work with other LGBTQ+ people exploring and expanding their sexualities and gender identities. As someone involved in radical politics, I offer validation and therapeutic solidarity to abolitionists and activists across the spectrum of liberation movements. And as a person with mental illness, I offer a dignified and person-centered approach to caring for our most sensitive personal issues and life challenges.

We tend to overlook our strengths and struggles while giving so much weight to these perceived failures. We think of happiness as a destination to get to, unpack our bags, and live there "happily ever after." I will work with you to untwist these unrealistic, unhelpful ways to view our emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. Our behaviors have a purpose if we look close enough without judgement.

We use evidence-based treatments that have been researched and found to reduce barriers that interfere with positive and healthy functioning.

I treat clients aged 18 (high school graduated) and up. I work best with clients who are ready to invest in meaningful change through a collaborative and thoughtful process. We all face challenges, and need support along the way. My process involves identification of intentions and values that support small gains in the moment that result in the achievement of larger goals over time. I start with a detailed assessment. Together we will create a treatment plan that is designed to help the client observe and experience the changes both large and small.

Accepting New Clients - I firmly believe in individualized, custom care for each of my clients. Just as “one size fits all” clothing never really fits anybody there is no “no size fits all” therapy in my practice. If you are going to put your time and trust in me then the least I can do is provide customized, evidence-based care. I honor the belief that each client is an expert on him, her, or themselves. At North Shore Family Services, we empower kids, teens, and adults to learn tools, so they can succeed independently. Our goal is for children, teens, adults, parents, and couples to learn skills to be successful with school, peers, work, and family- long after therapy ends. We assist with IEP and 504 plans to help our children/teen clients succeed where they spend most of their day- out of their parents' sight. Parents are our partners in helping kids and teens learn life skills.
