I am a licensed psychologist with clinical specialties that include: depression, anxiety, life transitions, women's issues, behavioral addictions, substance abuse, LGBTQ issues, complex trauma and psychodynamic/insight oriented psychotherapy. I hold an interactive, contemporary-relational therapeutic viewpoint, which is aimed at providing support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges.
A sub-specialty of my practice is providing short-term psychotherapy for smoking cessation. I have developed an approach that addresses the many challenges associated with quitting smoking, and can be helpful alone or in conjunction with pharmaceuticals (such as nicotine replacement).
My academic and professional interests also include multiculturalism, attachment theory, motivational enhancement, teaching, clinical supervision, course development, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
