Rui is a licensed marriage and family therapist who specializes in the treatment of trauma, developmental and attachment trauma, dissociative disorders and reactions to other stressful events in teens and adults. Rui is a certified somatic therapist combining Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment, as well as Attachment-Focused Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. Rui's approach is holistic (mind-body-spirit), non-violent, mindfulness-based, and attachment-based, as well as based on Interpersonal Neurobiology which is also the foundation of Rui's parenting consultation and coaching practice.

Jacqueline specializes working with adults, parents, and families. She has experience working with the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC community, offering an affirming outlook in a safe and caring environment. She has clinical experience working with trauma, life transitions, mood disorders, and parenting. She incorporates the Nurturing Parenting Program and Triple P Parenting Teen program which focuses on working with the parents of adolescents to strengthen the parent-teen relationship and family system. Jackie focuses in providing therapy that is culturally relevant and compassionate. She uses play, art, and writing as a tool in therapy.

I specifically specialize in working with marginalized populations, with a majority of my clients being women, LGBTQ+, and trans/non-binary. Many of my clients internalize the stigma and shame conditioned by our society's oppressive norms and politics. I help my clients find self-compassion, embrace their authenticity, and process their trauma from an intersectional, warm approach that always emphasizes fostering safety rather than "fixing."

As a first generation Latina woman, I believe in breaking down the cultural barriers and stigma involved with underserved populations receiving mental health services. Most people who come to me are ready to combat their challenges. I come with several years working in social services from non-profit, community mental health and private setting.
