Hello and welcome! My first priority when working w/ an individual is creating a safe space by helping them feel heard and understood without judgment. Once this environment is established, I focus on supporting a client's feelings, helping them reach new insights and acquire skills so they may be more comfortable and effective in their lives. I strive to guide the client toward solutions and to help them meet the goals they have for the therapy.
I have a lot of experience treating individuals who are struggling w/ alcohol & drug addiction as well as depression and anxiety. I also work with clients who have a history of adult or childhood trauma and PTSD. Other client issues include relationship difficulties, loss and times of transition and stress.
My approach is warm and friendly and my casual manner puts client's at ease. My communication style is direct but with compassion. I also think humor can be very healing. I love what I do and find the process of psychotherapy fascinating and rewarding. I look forward to meeting you!
