I specialize in working with the LGBTQ community, their allies, kink and polyamorous communities. My past and current work involves life changing medical diagnosis, questions surrounding sexuality and gender, and couples working through whether to get married, stay together, navigating separation with families, and healing relationship wounds. I founded The Nest Counseling Center to provide opportunities for Associate Therapists to continue their education in providing therapy to the LGBTQ Community.

My typical clients are teens & adults who have experienced various forms of trauma, seeking support & guidance to navigate their emotional wounds. They grapple with issues related to trauma, such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, & interpersonal challenges, often feeling overwhelmed & seeking a safe space to heal. Their needs revolve around finding coping mechanisms, building resilience, & processing their experiences in a supportive environment. They aspire to break free from the grips of trauma, aiming for personal growth, improved relationships, & the ability to lead fulfilling, healthy lives.

I especially love the work I've done helping people save their marriages, lose weight and get healthy, work through old stuff, and get a handle on debilitating anxiety and crushing depression. My name is Dr. Zamani (she/her) and I am a queer Afghan-American mixed licensed doctor in marriage & family therapy. I specialize in working with Complex Trauma for folks who have been exposed to consistent stressful experiences throughout their development ranging from childhood trauma, displacement, financial instability, and abandonment. Since I went to school for 9 years and had to complete a doctoral exam and dissertation, I have a wide range of knowledge and experience working from different therapy modalities and approaches. Most of which originate from eastern teachings and indigenous practices.

The primary goal of therapy is to develop a better understanding of yourself. I am a non-traditional therapist who provides direct feedback to you about the ways in which you may sabatage yourself and your relationships. You deserve to know how other people perceive you. In our conversations I will observe how you relate to the people in your life, and what you do to connect successfully, or push others away inadvertently. Are you frequently stuck in your head, unable to be present for conversations? There can be many reasons for your feelings of isolation and disconnection. Let's figure it out!

Hi! I am a self-esteem, ADHD and body image specialist. I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and work with teen and adult individuals, age 17 and above. My passion is in helping individuals struggling with negative body image, executive function issues and/or depression, work on building up their self-esteem, learn about their brain, decrease perfectionism and anxiety, and develop healthy relationships. I help my clients to develop a deeper sense of self-worth, examine old behavior patterns and create new patterns, learn boundary setting, and create a better balanced and more fulfilling life.
