Though I enjoy helping people of all ethnicities and from all different religious + cultural backgrounds. My focus is on children, tweens, teens and young adults who reside in "Non Traditional" homes. I am culturally & religious aware, LGBTQ+ and justice impacted sensitive with a strong understanding of what it takes to serve those who may feel that others have given upon them. In addition to those who reside in a single parent home, divorced, separated or blended family homes.

I am a seasoned counselor focused on achieving CONCRETE GOALS that we establish together at the beginning of the therapy process. I specialize in 3 areas: relationships, addiction recovery & wellness. Using a holistic approach, I work with clients to identify underlying issues and concerns that keep clients from making sustainable change, while creating an environment where clients feel valued and safe. I use the Enneagram of personality typology with clients so they can identify their mental, emotional, and behavioral patterns and raise self-awareness. Clients are introduced to Enneagram type based practices they can use on their own to sustain desired change.

My experience is working with individuals, adolescents, couples and families and my areas of specialties are marriage & family therapy, addictions, alcoholism/substance abuse, adolescents, depression/anxiety, fertility issues, LGBTQ*, divorce/co-parenting. I have a warm and empathic style and focus on strengths that allows a client to empower themselves.

The people I usually work with are individuals and couples who are facing important life or relationship challenges and have tried the typical strategies for improvement or making changes. I work best with those who want to take an honest and thorough look at his / her / their functioning and set in motion pragmatic steps toward sustaining a genuinely better life. While conflict and various forms of emotionality are a normal part of life, when these experiences negatively affect one's capacity to have a successful, enjoyable or fulfilling life, it is important to consider other avenues of support.

I design therapy to address the specific problems the person wants to work on. Anything from counseling to deep psychotherapy. I use CBT, EMDR, Client-Centered and Schema therapy. I also have training in psychodynamic and transpersonal therapy. I was trained in Chicago and have worked in private and community clinics, on an in-patient VA dual diagnosis unit and a correctional facility hospital, and at the Illinois state hospital in Chicago. I work with anxiety, OCD, Panic, and depressive/bipolar disorders, ADHD, trauma survivors, couples, LGBT, sexual problems, and male psychology, TBI.
