I work with children, teens and young adults who struggle with anxiety, OCD, life transitions, identity, and LGBTQ+ issues. Clients often begin therapy with me in search of relief from OCD/anxiety, support managing the transition into college or adulthood, self-acceptance, a space to explore their identity, ways to create more meaningful relationships with others, or parenting support. I also work with parents to provide insight and teach skills that allow them to confidently support and respond to their child/teen struggling with OCD/anxiety. I am certified in and offer PCIT for children 7 and younger with behavioral challenges.

I have knowledge and practice of many prominent counseling theories and will adapt my counseling approach to your needs and goals. I tend to implement a solution-focused approach in order to not only focus in on what your goals are, but also to get you to those goals as quickly as possible. While we develop solutions for your goals, I tend to think outside of the box and try to find unique solutions that are catered to you individually.

To learn and grow, children require a tapestry of love, safety, and challenge. When the challenges youth face exceed the amount of resources available, therapy can be helpful. Private, goal oriented, engaging and fun activities can motivate youth to participate in a process they might otherwise avoid. In my practice, I help children address anger, depression, trauma, school related difficulties, divorce, and adjustment issues. With over 20 years of clinical expertise, I understand that children's therapy is most effective when the process is safe and interesting. In my practice I help youth and families embrace needed change by using their strengths to solve problems.

Often people struggle with utilizing unhealthy, adaptive coping skills to address symptoms of depression, anxiety, or other mood disorders. We can assist you with identifying strategies that will work for you to identify and modify maladaptive patterns that no longer serve you.
