Loving your larger body is the shit. You don't need to take a quiz to know that you have low self-esteem, or that it’s related to having a larger body. You may find yourself hating yourself, putting yourself down constantly, dieting, shifting the conversation back to other people so that you don’t have to talk about yourself, following all of the rules so that you don’t get hurtful critical feedback, putting everyone else’s needs first, or struggling to say no. If you're also LGBTQ+ in Missouri, you face even more hurdles. All of these things can add up to major feelings of unworthiness.

Are you just f-ing tired? A car accident left you emotionally paralyzed. An assault shook up your life. A recent medical diagnosis or crisis has you questioning what's next. I have always said that I wanted to be a safe space for those who have experienced high levels of trauma and never felt as if they had somebody truly in their corner. Whether it be a child who is struggling to make it through the day to day because they feel different because of their life experiences, or an adult who is finally ready to feel the freedom that comes from healing, I desire to be a safe space for that individual. Trauma stole your balance, and you should absolutely be willing to fight for it to return.

I love working with many different populations and have a lot of experience working with women, LGBTQ+ folks, clients living with chronic illness and/or invisible disabilities, and clients with attachment trauma and other early traumas.

Starting therapy can seem overwhelming, but I am here to guide the way. Although starting counseling can be a difficult, I believe that walking into a counselor's office takes strength and courage. I work with adult clients 22 and older who have experienced ADHD, anxiety, depression, OCD, and substance abuse to grow in their confidence and understanding of themselves and I work with them to develop skills they can utilize to reach their therapy goals. Through our sessions, clients feel empowered, make choices aligned with their goals, and can create healthier relationships with themselves and others.

I believe people are more than their diagnosis. Yes, a diagnosis is a tool but it is not the big picture. I come from a place of curiosity and wonder, wanting to know my clients on a deeper level so that I can help them navigate this world. For example, PTSD is a big diagnosis that is thrown around; yet, it doesn't paint the full picture. It doesn't reflect someone's experiences, triggers, how this is impacting their relationships, family history, the strengths they possess etc. Adolescents are my passion however, I also enjoy and work closely with families and adults.

My ideal client will realize that something in their life is not working and they want to figure it out and make things better. They want to experience happiness, purpose and peace in their life. I hold a certification DBT and in sex addiction treatment, and trained in EMDR I&II, substance use issues, LGBT, and attachment issues. Domestic violence trainer of trainers. Many hours of trainings in trauma. I have worked the national and local suicide hotline. Developed/trained and provided therapy to police officers/wives. Have provided therapy to special clearance service members/wives at FT Carson, FT Warren, and Air Force Academy. I have worked closely with mental health/drug court. I provide therapy to individuals and couples.
