Hi, my name is Emily. I specialize in working with survivors of trauma, but also see clients for many reasons including: anxiety, depression, PTSD, relationship concerns, college mental health, life transitions, addiction, stress management, athletic and performance based stressors and mood related concerns. I am currently seeing clients in person at my Fairfax Office, but can meet virtually with clients all over Virginia and DC.

Sandhya Sharma is a South Asian Indian LPC and certified addictions specialist who works with: Adults, Teens, LGBTQ community, and International Communities. Sandhya will help create a safe and supportive therapy environment and work with you collaboratively to both accurately assess your strengths as well as areas of struggle. She will develop a treatment plan with you to help you facilitate behavioral changes that more successfully meet your goals. Sandhya will help you look at the ways you have been currently coping with life’s problems and help you to develop new strategies from a strengths-based perspective. 

I love what I do! I get to help you turn your insights into action for addictions, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. We may use individual, family, or group therapy, relapse prevention, education, medication, or MAT/MOUD. Our Dual Diagnosis Recovery Program is for people struggling with both a mental health and drug/alcohol issue. We know that recovery does not always mean abstinence. Take the Alcohol Moderation Assessment to help you determine your relationship with alcohol and learn how to get your life back in balance.

I believe life begins at the edge of our comfort zones with self exploration and insight to changing our maladaptive mindsets and behaviors. Welcome. Our large practice has over 200 openings! We focus on the relationship with your therapist. Working through conflicts or past pain happens through experiencing, not just through merely reading or thinking about things. Gaining self acceptance and discovering how to bring an open heart to your family or intimate relationships does not come simply from acquiring an insight, or from reading a "how to" book. It starts with the healing relationship... and the only way you will find out how comfortable you might feel with your therapist is to talk to them in person. My focus in treatment is on the relationship.
