You've been in therapy before. While it was, hopefully, a positive experience, you keep finding yourself dealing with the same patterns and issues time and time again. You have insight into the "why" but seem to struggle with translating that to the more permanent changes you desire. You sense that there's a disconnect, and you're exactly right! No, it's not because you're a failure. It's because your system is working exactly how it is designed to, in favor of your survival, not in favor of your happiness. To truly address these issues, we need to employ a modality that can access the sub-cortical parts of the brain & body.

I recognize that the most important aspect to an effective treatment is the quality of the relationship between the client and therapist. Through this collaborative approach, the client and I, identify their strengths and build on these characteristics through therapy. We identify areas in the individuals' life which are not useful or producing an undesirable outcome-such as self-destructive behavior, poor communication skills. This enables the client to gain an understanding of their symptoms and behavior and become more able to make practical, helpful changes. Rescuing Each Other Animal-Assisted Therapy (REO AAT) is a small private practice office offering support to individuals working to overcome barriers to mental health by partnering with certified professional therapy dogs. We work with children, adolescents, and adults (who love animals!) to address concerns such as anger, anxiety, depression, LGBTQ+ support/needs, problem solving, social skills, trauma, and much more. We believe in a holistic approach to treatment, and use a variety of techniques to meet each individual client's needs.
