I've practiced as a psychotherapist 19 years and worked with clients of all ages and from many diverse backgrounds. I work principally with clients with anxiety, depression and/or trauma. Many clients come to therapy looking not just for solutions and relief from suffering, but also to find connection and understanding that's missing in other parts of their lives. I work hard to establish a comfortable environment where clients know their choices are respected, but where they can be challenged to learn new ways of thinking and acting in order to truly feel better.
I help clients learn skills to challenge and change untrue beliefs they have about themselves and the world, beliefs that sometimes lead to anxiety and depression. I help them learn ways to change uncomfortable physical sensations associated with both and anxiety and depression, decreasing its hold on them.
I believe in the power of the relationship between the client and the therapist. Clients do better with a therapist who interacts like a person and not like a scientist. My therapy face is my real face.
