Announcement icon I have transitioned to Teletherapy services during the COVID-19 outbreak. Research shows teletherapy is as effective as in-person therapy!
Emily M Owens is not currently accepting new clients.
I take a cognitive-behavioral approach to helping clients. Within that framework, I've trained in traditional CBT for a variety of problems, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), mindfulness-based treatments, trauma-focused treatments (Prolonged Exposure and Cognitive Processing Therapy), and treatment for chronic depression (CBASP). Using this knowledge, I can create a treatment plan that fits your needs and goals. I specialize in mood disorders (depression, bipolar disorder), anxiety disorders, trauma, insomnia, and psychosis.
I'm skilled at treating clients with multiple, co-occurring problems- for example, someone struggling with depression, anxiety, insomnia, and binge eating. I also have specialized training from UCLA in psychosis assessment and treatment.
