I have over 25 years experience treating adults, families, adolescents, and couples. I specialize in depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and psychotic disorders. I am a published author who has presented my research on group psychotherapy nationally and internationally. I am also a licensed massage therapist who practices mind/body work. As a past board member with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), and a past member of APA's Task force on severe mental illness, I am an advocate for individuals and families who struggle with the stigma associated with these disorders. As a retired professor at Midwestern University.
I am an eclectically oriented therapist who uses a variety of orientations including ACT, DBT, psychodynamic psychotherapy, couples and family therapy, humanistic and cognitive behavioral techniques. I believe in an approach that is bio-psycho-social. My goal is to work with individuals and families to reduce symptoms quickly and effectively.
I work with the whole person (which at times includes the family). My goal is to provide the necessary services to integrate people back into their lives in efficient and effective ways-to help individuals to become fully functioning human beings. I am one of 4 % of all psychologists who is board certified in clinical psychology (ABPP).
