About
I'm licensed in DC and Virginia. My work is with adults experiencing difficult transitions who are trying to cope with the resulting stressors and uncertainties. The goal is to build capacity, make and sustain changes that are meaningful: including changes/losses related to career and relationships, new circumstances such as grief, sexuality, return to school, and retirement. My expertise is in the treatment of issues related addiction/recovery, and the impact on family and significant others. We work together so that you may effectively reengage in your personal and professional life and handle any potential license/clearance
My approach is relational, active, and psychodynamic. Together, we identify your strengths, then explore barriers to a more satisfying life, including anxiety, fear of rejection, loss, and low self esteem. By examining your strengths, barriers, and behavior patterns, you develop coping skills to take some personal risks and build a more meaningful life.
My experience includes providing treatment for 15 years to people struggling with substance use. This included group and individual therapy for a diverse clientele, as well as young adults. My previous business career strengthens my ability to work with multiple issues at once, facilitating career transitions and effective solutions for a range of people.
