Welcome! Finding a therapist is like finding the perfect jeans: daunting, and sometimes frustrating. I'm glad you've landed here and hope I can help. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of NY currently serving clients in-person in the Greater Rochester Area as well as across NYS. I also have a PhD in Mental Health Counseling from Pace University. My areas of practice include couples work (especially with intimacy concerns, and family planning or reproductive support), life transitions, LGBTQ+ informed care, and other healthcare workers and healthcare workers in training (therapists, doctors, etc.).

I think the most important part of therapy is the client-therapist relationship and I feel really lucky to serve a small enough number of clients to really prioritize those relationships. I value evidence-based care mixed with a little bit of woo-woo (I think there are just some elements of life and therapy that can't be captured by data).

In my office, you can expect freedom from judgement and a safe space to explore all of the things you choose. As a hands-on and direct therapist I use humor & candor to support you in achieving your goals. In my approach I welcome the messiness of life and work hard to create space in our relationship for you to be exactly as you are, wherever that might be.

I most often use psychodynamic and psychoanalytic approaches to therapy. The focus is on how our unconscious thoughts and past experiences impact our current patterns of behavior or relationship. I use a non-manualized treatment style that has less structure to allow us to address your individual (or couple) needs without following a rigid structure. All of my approaches are trauma-informed.
