Our feelings are signals not problems. They get louder, or shut down, when we don’t know how to respond to them. I dedicated my life to understanding and releasing trauma. As a result, I’ve come to understand the rupture that defines the traumatic condition is collective. What we see out there, in the world, the struggle and strife, reflects the conditions we’ve all inherited. Pain is a signal that something needs attention. Our relationship with self needs attention. Of course it does. Healing is realized through Hopeful Empowered Active Living and that’s our natural state.
My years of experiences with clients aligns with the latest findings in neuroscience. Experience is the key to change. I integrate somatic approaches like EMDR, Mindfulness, Sensorimotor, Neurofeedback, hypnosis. I have a specialty integrating into meditation and peak experience training.
Originally from NYC, so I deeply appreciate diversity of life experience. My approach is integral: whole person. I have many tools that I integrate to meet needs. I’ve been in practice for over 30 years. I’ve learned pain is pain. Sources vary. Healing has its own rules and that is my aim.

I started as a counselor in 1998. After college, I completed 4 years in a Clinical Psychology Ph.D program that I had to abandon due to a medical complication. When that stabilized, I obtained a MSW. Over the years, I completed years of psychoanalytic training too.

My method begins by helping you reset your nervous system so you can absorb and participate fully in the therapy. What everyone needs at the start is a grounding in what your experience is trying to show you— somatic, emotional, and mind. It is always a completely natural responses to unnatural conditions. We live in an embodied condition that is often taken for granted.

My approach is wholly individualized and I use (most often) different approaches in an integrated way. Therapy isn't like the car wash— select which wash you want and you go through it. There are different phases, needs, and responses, so I engage with you how you need. Healing has its own logic. So I allow that to guide how I implement what.
