I specialize in Couples Counseling and Individual Counseling in service of couples/ or relationship issues. The goal of counseling is to help you maintain the relationship you are in while holding onto your own self respect. The goal is to help both of you feel seen and responded to by your partner to desolve the shut down or critical voice in the relationship. The protocol I utilize to meet this goal is Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). EFT provides relational skills to deescalate the hurts and increase awareness of negative communications patterns that manifest reactive communication, distress and disconnection with each other.
EFT is an evidence based protocol for couples counseling, the research indicates that couples who receive EFT, will emerge from treatment with a high success rates (75%-90%) and low relapse rates. I specialize in trust issues, absence of emotional safety, infidelity, sexual related issues, anger issues, step-families, adult children issues, parenting skills
