I work with adults, adolescents, children and couples / families. If you are anxious, depressed, or lonely; in a troubled relationship, grieving, haunted by childhood trauma, or painful, confusing feelings; it can be hard to make headway alone. There are times when the reason for coming to therapy is clear (a loss, a crisis), other times a feeling that something is holding you back, or keeping you from your self.
My style is engaged, authentic and direct. Depth psychotherapy engages our curiosity about ourselves in the service of development. I work with deep respect for the ways in which culture, race, class, gender, orientation, immigrant status, sexuality, and physical ability can impact our experiences and sense of one's self.
Exploring relationship patterns and transforming difficulties arising from trauma, or childhood experiences is a deeply collaborative process. I have over 30 years of experience as a psychotherapist. I embrace developmental and attachment theories, contemporary psychoanalytic theories and family systems; jungian depth psychotherapy, creative arts, sandplay, and dream work.
