Hi, I'm Bethany Akudike! I am person-centered in my therapy techniques and have worked with folks across the lifespan dealing with grief, loss, and life transitions. I have clinical experience in various settings with clients who have anxiety, depression, PTSD, and a spectrum of dissociative disorders, including Dissociative Identity Disorder. I am trained in EMDR and Trauma Model Therapy and can incorporate elements of these modalities into my work with clients ages 11+. I believe in looking beyond symptoms and behaviors to find the root cause of an issue, and I strive to make sure clients are heard and understood.

I specialize in PTSD, dissociative disorders, grief, and religious trauma. I work from a trauma-focused approach. I have a non-pathologizing stance, meaning that I see your symptoms as a response rather than something "wrong" with you. I am committed to working with you session by session, offering a nonjudgmental space for you to get to know yourself.

I am trained in EMDR, which stands for "Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing." This modality is evidence-based and is indicated to significantly reduce symptoms of trauma. EMDR is not appropriate for everyone, and we can discuss whether this treatment is right for you.
