About
I'll work with you to help you see how your story (i.e. your family and life experiences) informs your current life. Therapy is about identifying the parts of your story and the accompanying ways of coping that have an adverse effect on your life. In therapy you will get some clarity about: How your past is showing up in your present; Unhelpful coping strategies that you may be using; How you're operating in relationship to yourself and others; And healthy tools to use in place of unhealthy coping strategies.
I specialize in working with childhood trauma and family-of-origin issues. The impact of these life experiences can show up as symptoms such as anxiety/depression, unhealthy boundaries, compulsive behaviors, and relationship issues. I'll work with you toward healing the original woundings that led to your current symptoms.
I am an EAGALA certified Equine Mental Health Specialist. I offer Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) and Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) to individuals and groups.
