We have all experienced difficult transitions in our lives which create feelings of anxiety, fear, loneliness, anger or sadness. Developing new ways of coping, or new ways of looking at values and beliefs, can help us transcend these feelings and create new opportunities for peace and meaning in our lives. I am compassionate and nonjudgmental, with an informal and interactive style. I am interested in your spiritual framework as it may pertain to values and beliefs which are helpful or harmful, and I often use humor as a means to maintain safety and balance in our work together.
I specialize in working with adults facing loss due to life transition or death of a loved one (including pets). This includes loss involving sudden or violent death, suicide, or long-term illness. I work with adults in the later stages of life to address issues associated with aging and end-of-life planning.
I also specialize in working with adult survivors of domestic violence, violent crimes, and childhood trauma/abuse. I can help you work through painful memories and events and begin the process of long-term healing and the creation of new beginnings. I am a certified trauma and loss professional as well as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner.
