I specialize in working with clients who have experienced narcissistic abuse. As an adult child of a narcissist myself, I know all too well how difficult it is to get help and to heal. Narcissism isn't necessarily overt abuse, especially for children, and it is often hard to figure out why you feel depressed, anxious, struggle with perfectionism, or keep finding yourself in codependent relationships as adults. Narcissistic abuse is trauma and it can keep you in survival mode for a very long time. As a trauma therapist, I would love to help you learn to thrive, to find joy, to be free, and really live your own life. We do heal!
I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and have extensive experience as a trauma therapist. I also use the Enneagram in my practice and find it a great way to learn about yourself and understand your triggers and trauma responses.
Trauma causes us to create some amazing coping skills that help us get through our childhoods, but these coping skills don't work well as adults. They hold us back and make us afraid to be vulnerable. Therapy helps reprocess those experiences and negative beliefs and rediscover our true selves.
