Starting therapy can be daunting and intimidating. Maybe you’re not sure where to start, or you have tried talk therapy before and didn’t see the results you were looking for. Perhaps you over-intellectualize and can’t really feel your emotions. Or you don’t want to have to start all over with someone new without making progress. What if I told you that you could start to see a deeper connection to yourself within a few sessions? Or that you didn’t have to tell me about all the things you’ve been through - we can just take it one step at a time with what’s happening for you right in this moment and still address root issues?
Therapy from my point of view is all about a more meaningful connection to yourself so that you can learn how to be present with emotions. Once emotions and thoughts don’t seem so overwhelming, you have more self-trust built to be able to get to the root of issues so that you don’t have to feel so riddled with anxiety or judged by your inner critic.
Techniques I use from parts work (IFS) and somatically informed practices allow you to identify and be present with emotions and thought processes in different ways than before. Working through difficult or traumatic memories can also be addressed through these techniques or through the use of EMDR. We go at your pace. Contact me for a free consult.
