As a therapist with twenty years of experience helping children and their families heal and learn to cope with trauma, I have extensive experience working with children with extreme behavioral issues, such as aggression, defiance, problematic sexual behaviors, school problems, and other acting out behaviors. I utilize a trauma informed approach to help alleviate symptoms of trauma and improve resilience. I work to help families gain tools and strategies to navigate these issues, along with providing therapy to enhance abilities to cope and work through trauma so that it doesn't impact daily living.
I am certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy including specific training in addressing problematic sexual behaviors due to trauma. I utilize a trauma informed approach and am a Trust Based Relational Interventions Practitioner, able to provide parent/caregiver training.
Building connections and trust are a cornerstone when it comes to helping kids and their families heal. I utilize a compassionate and strengths-based approach. I understand the complexities and sensitive nature of trauma and provide a space for healing and hope for those needing help.
