Life is full of challenging events, decisions, and transitions. Going to therapy does not make a person “less than,” or indicate you are incapable of dealing with challenges/issues on your own. Beginning therapy is a sign of courage and awareness that you believe positive change in your life can be achieved. I work with adult individuals helping them cope with and work through a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, drug/alcohol use, stress reduction, anger, life transitions, coping with uncertainty, increasing self-esteem, as well as developing and maintaining healthy relationships.
I use integrated therapeutic approaches including person-centered concepts, cognitive-behavioral techniques, motivational interviewing strategies, mindfulness, talk therapy, and an emphasis on the importance of good self-care and creating balance in your life. Our work will be guided by your unique needs and frequently promotes empowerment and self-advocacy.
We will collaborate to develop goals of therapy, I will assist and guide you with exploring and working through your struggles, examining the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behavior, identifying and challenging core beliefs, challenging self-defeating thoughts, identifying your core values, and developing healthy coping skills.
