My ideal clients come to therapy with a deep desire to know and understand him/herself better. They are looking for a collaborative effort in gaining this understanding and are motivated to work outside of the office to achieve the desired result.
I especially enjoy looking across the lifespan of a person and helping them to connect the dots in understanding how life circumstances have shaped them into who they are today. I believe in promoting complete acceptance of oneself including faults, as well as strengths and coming to a place of love for all aspects.
With 30+ years of experience it is safe to say I have seen and heard the full gamut of psychiatric problems. Beginning my career in a state-run psychiatric hospital allowed for a familiarity with the severely mentally ill. Being in private practice for the past 22 years has included working with outpatient psychiatric problems and less severe conditions.
