As a therapist and human being, I believe understanding our emotions is important in all aspects of our lives. I truly enjoy getting to know how others experience emotions and can help in the identification and regulation of hurtful and difficult emotions. I feel grateful to be able to offer you a therapeutic environment wherein you can discuss painful experiences, thoughts and emotions and learn to cope and resolve those experiences in safe space. I will help you learn and cope with difficult, intense emotions, grief, mood symptoms, and ineffective behaviors through warmth, acceptance, and gentle nudging towards change.
My training and experience began in a Partial Hospital Environment where we utilized Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I also utilize Motivational Interviewing in Addictions Treatment. I have additional training in Cognitive Processing Therapy and EMDR for Trauma Treatment. I often utilize a combination of these modalities to meet each client where they are.
I believe all people can change. All people can learn to understand and regulate difficult emotions and behaviors and ALL people can recover from their symptoms. I will seek to understand your individual experience and work with you, at your pace, to achieve the acceptance, balance, and/or change that your system is craving.
