Does your child struggle with managing emotions? Are lagging social skills, anxiety, or acting out behaviors interfering with daily life? Are you feeling overwhelmed and at a loss for how to help? After spending 18 years as an early childhood educator in a local public school district, I transitioned to clinical therapy in order to work with families more directly in support of social/emotional skills and mental health. Counseling is a great opportunity for exploration and growth.
I am passionate about helping kids who have developmental delays, behavioral concerns, anxiety, or are processing trauma. I take a neurodiversity-affirming approach when working with kids with diagnoses like autism or ADHD. During therapy, I focus on developing a strong relationship and trust through child-centered therapy techniques.
Coaching kids as they develop emotional regulation and communication skills helps them build self-efficacy and improves the relational dynamics at home. Together, we can collaborate about what interventions will work best for your child and family. I look forward to meeting with you and your child!
