I'm a culturally informed therapist committed to helping people develop new approaches to difficulties so they leave therapy more at peace and connected. In addition to what brings them to therapy, many of the people I work with feel like they don’t quite belong. They worry about other people's judgements. They may believe that they are not as competent as the people around them. Or they question their ability to be a good partner, parent, or friend. Sometimes they just feel lonely. Therapy is a place where we can make sense of all these experiences and develop tools to move forward with greater confidence and integrity.
When you hold seemingly disparate identities, you may not feel fully at home in any of them. I often work with people who navigate complicated intersections such as being bi-cultural, multi-racial, impacted by immigration, or having changed socioeconomic status or religious affiliation. My practice is LGBTQIA-affirming.
If you're hesitating to reach out, you're certainly not alone! Some people are doubtful therapy will help. Others worry that their concerns are too small or are unsure of exactly what they want. Many wonder how to determine if a therapist is good. I offer a free 15 minute consultation to help you figure out if my practice is a good fit for what you need.
