I believe that everyone can get stuck or lost or find ourselves using behaviors/thought patterns that ultimately make things worse and make us feel bad about ourselves. I have spent 35 years in behavioral health, helping people discover and become their "best" and healthy selves. Present problems, past hurts or even diagnoses don't have to define us or take over our lives. Problems can be solved, hurts transformed, diagnoses understood and skills learned; pain can be transformed into resilience. A wise person once told me, "As long as you are alive, there is hope." I believe that and offer you the opportunity to find a new way.
Training : I use a variety of treatment modalities, choosing the ones best for each individual person: Minfulness-based therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, EMDR (trauma treatment), tools to help with anxiety/depression; parenting/relationship issues; grief therapy, positive psychology, ACT; bringing spirituality into treatment.
I also incorporate my training as an Occupational Therapist into treatment, being actively involved in the session. I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental, safe space to help you clarify your goals and explore tools to help you meet those goals.
