Sometimes our thoughts, our feelings, and our circumstance can be hard to put together. When we try to connect with others, or we have no one to connect with, we’re left feeling misunderstood and lost. A memory that we have a hard time letting go of, a loss of energy, seemingly with no explanation behind it. Trauma, grief, loss. These burdens can build up over time. Having a partner as we journey through and process these experiences can be invaluable in finding peace within ourselves and our story.
My name is Ben Munson. I've been working with folks in various roles since 2009. My approach centers on building a foundation of understanding and listening with others, before moving to problem solving. I believe it's an incredibly validating experience to be heard, and my goal is to ensure that all clients feel understood within therapy.
My therapy style tends to be less formal, with emphasis on relationship building, good humor, and validation. Therapeutic approaches include narrative therapy, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, IFS, and family systems. Also, I'm a gamer and have a firm pulse on internet culture.
