I see psychotherapy as a collaborative and exploratory process, in which your specific goals, needs, and wishes will determine the focus of our work and I will help you navigate through the impasses, challenges, and complexity that inevitably confront us as human beings. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to addressing mental health or for righting the ‘ship – our relationship to self and others in our life. That is why I tailor treatment to address the deeply personal concerns you are contending with. I have experience in psychodynamic, relational, CBT, and ACT. Oftentimes, a combination or integration of approaches works best.
In addition to individual therapy, I provide couples therapy and find this part of my practice to be particularly rewarding. I strive to foster increased empathy and mutual understanding, as well as tend to old wounds that may not have received adequate attention and may be impacting the quality of your connection.
Group therapy is a personal and professional passion of mine. I currently serve as the Coordinator of Group Services at UW-Madison. As a group therapist, I strive to create a safe, supportive environment that enables you to deepen your self-knowledge, gain new insights into your interpersonal patterns, and improve your relationships with other people.
