I currently hold a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia. With over 10 years of experience, I support adolescents and families as they manage issues such as depression, anxiety, life transitions, and individual, family, and personal relationship issues. As an undergraduate, I felt it was important to combine my two passions of psychology and outdoor recreation by completing a specialty double major program in Psychology and Human Services and Recreation Management with an emphasis on Therapeutic Outdoor Recreation.
My focus is centered around the importance of the therapeutic alliance to ensure a collaborative setting where people feel safe to identify personal problems they are struggling with. I aim to help clients move forward by recognizing barriers, emotional attachments, and the unique challenges they face.
Recognizing my clients’ specific needs and fostering their growth by identifying their strengths and providing a forum to create effective solutions to address issues in their lives is the cornerstone of not just managing or coping but ultimately learning how to thrive.
