About
Parents develop strategies in my office to minimize family conflicts, cope with difficult situations, and manage disruptive or risky behavior in their kids and teens. Every family is different, and I assist them in creating and implementing a workable approach to meet their specific circumstances. Family counseling will give you a greater understanding of why things feel so hard, why your kid is doing what they are doing, and why things are not changing. You will walk away with specific strategies, plans, and skills that you can use in order to break the patterns of negative behavior and feel more in control and prepared.
Many families and parents that go through counseling together end up feeling more confident and connected because of the transformation they have accomplished. It is also very common to experience: Reduced conflict, decreased parental stress, successful relationships with your teenagers, kids and teenagers feeling empowered, appreciated and supported.
If you are interested in counseling, but are not sure what it would be like, give me a call! I’d love to answer questions or just hear about what’s going on in your life. Our discussion should help you decide if counseling would be a good fit for you. For your convenience, I offer evening and weekend appointments as well as online counseling sessions.
