Relationships require trust, communication, and profound awareness of each other’s worlds. I work with couples, including polyamorous, non-monogamous, kinky, etc, to build connection, trust, and intimacy in their relationships. I also help partners learn to manage relationship conflict more effectively. I help partners find ways to communicate about challenging and sensitive issues. This is important when partners struggle to connect around each other's unique sexual wants and needs. These conversations need an atmosphere of trust, acceptance, and non-judgment, as partners learn to validate and respond to each other's sexual selves.
As a sex therapist, I specialize in all things related to sex. I help individuals ground themselves in the present and connect with their values. I help neurodivergent clients find their unique strengths and reduce feelings of shame. I help couples using the Gottman method, a data-driven approach, to improve connection and conflict management.
When I work with clients around sexuality, I create an atmosphere of warmth, welcome, and nonjudgment. I also have a unique style that is active and engaging. I am not a "Minnesota nice" therapist. I am somewhat irreverent and comfortable with profanity, finding that laughter in the face of suffering can be a powerful source of healing and connection.
