I specialize in working with people who are experiencing increased anxiety and stress, struggling with panic and responses to trauma, and navigating daily-life with obsessions and compulsions. I know that awareness brings change. One of the greatest tasks then for therapy is to gain insight and understanding as to what leads to feeling sad, anxious, and overwhelmed. So often, our first desire is to get rid of these experiences, but as we demonstrate the courage to understand and accept all parts of ourselves, we gain access to balance, self-guidance, and the peace that is missing in life.
I am passionate about making the therapy experience empowering for all of my clients, including racial minorities and my friends in the LatinX community. My therapeutic skills include helping people who are struggling with panic, OCD symptoms, trauma, and other forms of anxiety. I have interest and experience working with folks on the Autism spectrum.
My preferred approach to therapy is Internal Family Systems (IFS) in which we focus on gaining insight and understanding of our internal systems. As we use courage and compassion to move towards parts of ourselves that can cause disruption, we gain the ability to relate to ourselves in a new way, replacing tension and conflict with balance and harmony.
