My clinical focus is PTSD, developmental trauma and addictive disorders. I combine traditional "talk" therapy with QEEG-informed Neurofeedback and EMDR, where appropriate. This offers you the best chance of healing past emotional wounds, alleviating symptoms, and living more fully in the present. The subtle, transformative power of Neurofeedback helps many clients resolve the traumatic stress, fear and anxiety that often underly behavioral and addictive disorders. EMDR is another powerful tool that can help resolve emotional trauma, improve functioning, and help you become more present-focused.

The wonderful thing about change is it can start in thought- cultivating greater self-awareness or behavior- learning a new skill.
Therapy is about creating meaningful, lasting change that creates a sense of fulfillment in your own life and relationships with others. It's an investment in you and those around you. I have a collaborative, goal-oriented approach, tailored to each individual and shaped by my own training, experience and interests as well as my curiosity, empathy and respect for others. My practice is informed by a wide variety of influences (psychodynamic training, parent management training, studies including DBT) and interests (mindfulness, parenting issues, work/life balance, life transitions, neuropsychology, positive psychology).

Adults, couples, adolescents and children need a safe and trusting environment to facilitate the process of insight and change, and to boost their self esteem. I provide a warm, empathetic goal-oriented approach where families can explore their feelings, work on interpersonal relationships, and consider options for growth, and emotional well being. All family members play a role and benefit from the therapeutic process. I am in private practice, working with women, men, and their families. Of most importance is the relationship with my clients, based on respect and a deep appreciation for their feelings, thoughts, and issues. And a sense of humor helps, too! I have a large "tool kit" of techniques and experiences and use what is helpful for the situation. My background is in Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as teaching skills that help both in therapy, in work, in relationships. I also have extensive experience in the arts and the corporate world and so can offer a unique set of skills and understanding to clients.

I draw from a psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, family systems, and emotion-focused framework, but overall value the therapeutic relationship, characterized by non-judgment and genuineness, as a source of healing.
I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to engage in self-reflection at some moment in their lives, whether they are transitioning through a phase or struggling with the daily stressors of everyday life that impact well-being. I envision therapy as a collaborative process between therapist and client in which individuals, through guidance and introspection, can reach the best versions of themselves and develop meaningful relationships, self-fulfillment, and mastery over past and present challenges. I hold a multicultural lens with all clients I encounter and recognize the impact of race, ethnicity, and social context.
