Many of the people that come to see me have in someway either lost their way in life and are tired of settling for the crumbs. Some come because of their lives have become out of balance and in some cases out of control in the mental, physical, emotional and spiritual areas. Others, because they are in a tremendous amount of emotional pain. My goal is to help you find a healthy way of dealing with whatever the issues, in effective ways, that are keeping you from reaching your highest potential and to heal the obvious and not so obvious wounds that might be preventing that from happening.

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) who has also a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor(CADC) and a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology(MCP). Much of my training has been centered in client-centered theory and I also have specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). In addition to being traditionally trained, I also incorporate​ a holistic, integrated approach toward psychotherapy which includes aspects of mindfulness and Eastern philosophy, providing individual, family and couples therapy as well as intervention work.

Our life's work is helping clients achieve a better sense of self and happiness...more recently we've recognized that without good mental health providers finding this balance in life can be more difficult and stressful. As a result, we tend toward and Integrative approach and have our clients transform into the people they want to be. We see each client as an individual with many parts to their identity. Utilizing a holistic and systemic approach we help clients reintegrate the parts of themselves to function better as individuals and within their systems. Our focus tends toward a systems based approach using behavior methods.

I believe life is a journey. It is full of ups & downs, good & hard things. How we deal & cope with these experiences is what can make the journey a positive challenge. My ultimate goals in providing therapy to clients are to assist them in their ability to cope & deal with what life throws them, the easy & the challenging; & assist them in their own personal growth along their journeys. Ms. Mannix's clinical practice focuses on providing cognitive behavioral therapy to children, adolescents & adults. Ms. Mannix also provides family therapy to clients of all ages. She has worked extensively with children, adolescents and adults who have Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Behavioral Problems & ADHD, Bipolar disorder, Autism, Divorce, Grief and loss, family conflicts, learning difficulties, school concerns. Ms. Mannix focuses on post traumatic stress, relational/behavioral problems in children, school difficulties, adolescences and adults as well. Ms. Mannix is also a strong advocate for persons with disabilities.

In my practice, I work with couples, individuals, and families utilizing methods from Emotionally Focused Therapy. This scientifically proven approach, developed by Dr. Sue Johnson, helps people understand and improve their emotional connection with themselves and others. Couples learn how to reconnect through listening, validation, and empathy. The EFT process, backed by research, enables couples, families, and individuals to create secure attachments, leading to improvements in depression and anxiety. I offer faith-based counseling in my practice according to my client's preferences.
