I offer psychotherapy and psychoanalysis to adults, children and teens. I am open to working with a range of presenting concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, trauma and emotional regulation. I work with individuals seeking help with transient difficulties as well as those wanting to address more longstanding problems. My role as a therapist includes helping patients: deepen their awareness of their emotional lives; get in touch with aspects of themselves that they are out of touch with; foster the integration of varied aspects of themselves; establish and maintain healthy and satisfying relationships.
My work with patients is based on a contemporary psychoanalytic approach. I think of therapy as a "meeting of minds" - the interaction between patient and therapist - that creates an opportunity for growth and healing. I believe focused, empathic and compassionate attention from another human being can have a profound impact.
My work with children utilizes play therapy as a way to help kids express and work through their problems. My work with parents is one of collaboration, helping parents deepen their appreciation for their child's emotional life, increase their confidence as parents, and strengthen their relationship with their child.
