Welcome future clients to Lifecore Counseling & Behavioral Health! I'm excited you've stopped here to view my profile. I am a Doctor of Behavioral Health and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am also a trained Psychotherapist and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. My goal is to empower and assist my clients in identifying their strengths while working towards self actualization. I specialize in children, adolescents, individuals, families and couples. My experiences with working at inpatient psychiatric hospitals, intensive outpatient programs and drug rehab centers, have equipped me to provide effective therapeutic care.

I have been in private practice for 23 years and I am dedicated in providing quality care to my clients in a supportive private practice. I provide Individual, Relationship, Marriage, Family, Child, Adolescent and Adult therapies. I have a Master's Degree in Marriage/Family Therapy. I feel very privileged in my work and consider it a honor they have shared their lives with me. I hold a deep respect for my clients. I offer positive and constructive clinical feedback while maintaining a significant emphasis in listening to my clients' issues. Many psychological problems are tied to relationship struggles - sex and money are two of the biggest struggles implicated in these cases either as cause, consequence, or something in between. People in our community often find themselves having spent their childhood trying to stay safe, only to reach adulthood without the skills and relationships to have the fulfilling life they deserve. We often feel like we are spending our lives playing catch up, trying to reclaim our past while living out our present and future all at the same time.

My passion is bringing hope and healing to those who feel like life has given them the impossible. I assist my clients, which include children, adults, and families, to find healthy perceptions of themselves, draw power from their pain and strengthen their relationships, so, they can be reassured of their own courage.

Men, in particular men of color, find seeking help as a sign of weakness. I am here to tell you that this is one of the bravest things you could ever do and the rewards are limitless when you face this challenge. As a psychologist with over 30 years experience, I have particular interest in working with individuals with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, college and work stress, phase of life issues, gay/lesbian struggles, marital/divorce problems and general relationship issues. My expertise has allowed me to be highly effective in quickly understanding the needs of my patients, to help facilitate an effective treatment plan. Generally, individuals begin to feel better with progress often seen after a few visits. The length of time spent in treatment will be mutually agreed upon, based on the presenting problem and its complexity.
