I am a holistic & inclusive trauma & sex therapist. I love to help clients work on the issues most important to them and to talk about those things that you may not be able to with anyone else. Trauma, sex, relationships, everything is on the table, because it is all YOU! I approach issues from a holistic lens, which includes all aspects of your life experience. My work is strengths based and client centered, meaning I believe you are the expert on your life and you possess unique strengths to help you on your journey. Together we will foster and build your strengths as we embark on the path towards self-discovery and healing.

I'm passionate about serving communities of people who have been underserved, and possibly harmed, by the fields of counseling and psychology in the past including: the LGBTQ+ population, those with non-traditional relationship structures such as polyamory, the kink community, and neurodivergent individuals. I strive to make therapy a comfortable and safe environment for people of all cultures, gender expressions, and sexual orientations. I am trauma-informed, sex and kink- positive, and body-neutral. I value social justice and hold anti-racist, disability-informed, feminist values, that I carry through my work.

There are many times in our lives where we recognize that our behaviors and beliefs may not be serving our current life path. In fact, we may recognize that those behaviors we used to protect ourselves are holding us back from truly living the life we want and deserve. I primarily work with adults who need support around: anxiety, gender identity, sexuality, perfectionism, compassion fatigue, grief, and chronic illness.

I am licensed to see patients in both Kentucky and Indiana. I completed my PhD in Counseling Psychology with emphasis training in Behavioral Health and Spanish Counseling. I completed my post doctoral residency in general mental health with Veterans Affairs. I have specialty training in LGBTQ+ issues and trauma recovery; including certification in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD. I also specialize in psychological evaluations for varying issues including differential diagnosis, cross-sex hormone/surgery readiness, and disability.

I enjoy working with both complicated mental health concerns and generally healthy people struggling to adjust to their ever-changing lives. After identifying your goals in therapy, I will support you in understanding and overcoming barriers to these goals in the context of your life, mind, and body. The exploration this entails will help you generate self-compassion while accomplishing meaningful change. Your initial goals will be the focus of this exploration, but clients often achieve even greater change as well. I have particular skill working with personality disorders, sexual concerns, LGBTQ+ issues, and existential issues.

Effective counseling is all about connection. We seek to be understood, to be known, and to share life with someone else. In a world that repeatedly invalidates sensitivity and vulnerability, it’s not surprising that many of us struggle to feel happy, attain goals and find fulfilling romantic relationships. Some of us turn to substances, while others over function. If we are parents, we may find that we accidently repeat hurtful dynamics with our own children. Suddenly, or not so suddenly, we find ourselves struggling with guilt, shame and hopelessness. I am here to provide a warm and non-judgmental space, so that we may explore the strength and resilience you already posess.

Having someone listen who can reflect your thoughts and feelings and help your perspective be heard is the start of our therapeutic relationship. I am here to assist in your understanding as you seek solutions and balance in managing challenges, big or small, affecting daily life functions. My areas of interest include children, young adults, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, faith/spiritual concerns, career transitions, and family relations. My life experiences in education, career counseling, and the arts enrich and support helping families and children seeking mental wellness. I provide in person and telehealth services.
