I work with individuals, couples, and families with relationship and mental health issues. I have 28 years of experience in areas such as depression, anxiety, trauma, parenting issues, coping with divorce, relationship conflict/decision making, interpersonal violence, and childhood disorders. I also have extensive experience with at-risk youth, psychoeducational programs across multiple topics including mental health, relationship issues, substance use, LGBTQ needs, trauma, and others.
I have received clinical training in a wide variety of therapeutic techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, systemic therapy, emotion-focused therapy, trauma-focused treatments, DBT, and can customize the therapeutic approach to the unique needs of each clients. I also offer relationship education classes for youth, single adults, and couples.
Using an empowerment philosophy I work with clients to identify strengths/successes and add to these new knowledge/skills to enhance their ability to cope with life's challenges. I have 26 years of research, community-based practice and university-based teaching of social work/family therapy.
